Design Demokratisierung
The work explores the idea of the democratisation of design on a macro level. The following questions were the focus of the documentary: what is the democratisation of design? Why does design need to be democratised? And how can the democratisation of design ultimately be achieved? In design, the idea of democracy was not, as is usually the case, related to political propaganda, but instead developed historically and related to design for the majority, community design, and autonomous design for individuals. The prerequisites for these ideas were technical developments, their requirements generated from social developments and design theory for which the product language was the internal motivation. Despite limitations and disadvantages of current human-computer interaction methods, it was also possible to demonstrate trends of corresponding AI applications as an opportunity for design democracy in future design situations.
DE-BOT
DE-BOT is a research project that considers how AI can be integrated into design processes. To this end, I first looked at existing machine learning technologies and then concentrated on a human-machine interaction model. My objective was to develop a general system for designing an AI-generated product. The whole system, which functions as an AI- assisted design service cycle, consists of three concepts to support the human design process: the conversational user interface as the subsystem for form generation, the generating text to form function as the subsystem for language processing, and the package recycling system as the subsystem for package reuse. All subsystems are interconnected in a loop structure to form a functioning overall system that provides a sustainable service to both professional and amateur designers engaged in product design.
