UI / UX

Perspektiven des Interfacedesigns

In my thesis, I addressed the status quo and the future perspectives of interface design. UI / UX is facing similar challenges to those of industrial design: all digital operating elements have to be designed in a detail manner in the same product language as those in the physical world.

Scientific findings have brought about rapid changes in the design of graphic user interfaces over the past decades. In the process, it was not only important to design the user interface in a user-friendly way, but also to rethink the digital space of the interface between man and machine. My theoretical work sheds light on further development of interface design and existing products and presents visions of the future, as well as changes that extend beyond the screen, to generate a new digital reality and perspective.

Digitaler Mutterpass

The digital maternity passport is a mobile app for pregnant women and doctors. It forms part of the electronic patient file. The app collects laboratory test results and data on the development of the child and provides the possibility to track the health of the pregnant woman. It not only accompanies a pregnant woman during pregnancy, it also provides aftercare for recovery and regression after birth. This includes emotional support, because around 75 percent of mothers suffer from depression after the birth of their child (as baby blues or postpartum depression).

Informative articles, for example on nutrition, and guidance on pregnancy gymnastics are also aimed at enabling users the opportunity to gain more grounded knowledge and therefore prepare themselves psychologically and physically for a new chapter in their lives.

Introduced in the 1960s, the analogue maternity record contains many technical terms that most patients do not understand. Such terms are explained in the digital app at the click of a button, making the maternity passport comprehensible to all.
