In my theoretical work, I take a closer look at the relationships of nature and culture and their history of development, in which I also seek out differences and commonalities. An important position is occupied by indigenous tribes and peoples, especially from South America, Siberia and Asia, who extend the community of subjects to animals, plants, spirits, and sometimes landscapes, and who live together with them on an empathic basis. The idea of a separation of humanity or culture and nature in Western-influenced thinking, its cultural-historical classification, and its contradictory nature represents a further focus in this discussion. This framework therefore considers how we perceive and interpret our environment and how this interpretation varies according to time and cultural influence.

My practical work encompasses 42 exhibits that also function on an individual basis. They are mainly spatial installations and consist of different materials created using various techniques. Many exhibits have been created quite intuitively. However, they were done so within the framework of a theoretical examination of the relationship between nature and culture as well as of different ideas and interpretations of nature. In this context, I was particularly interested in various notions of the wilderness. I was paid attention to the rise of contemporary natural science and the resulting specific approaches of relating to nature, such as the indigenous natural sciences or understandings of nature described in Claude Levi-Strauss and Philippe Descola.
